Introduced in 1984 as the United States’ first rappel available in a show cave, the rappel at Moaning Cavern tests even the most courageous visitor by giving them the opportunity to descend by rope 165 feet into the huge main chamber!
Brave guests take in a unique view of the cave that can only be seen by rappelling.
After rappelling approximately 50 feet from the original cave entrance, guests take in the amazing view at the top Moaning Cavern’s main chamber.
It doesn’t end there, guests still have another 120 feet left to go before reaching the bottom of the chamber joining the walking tour patrons.
No experience is necessary, and gloves, hard-hat, and the highest quality rappelling equipment are provided. Adventurous people from all walks of life are thrilled by this unique and exciting opportunity to try something new! Total trip time is approximately 45 minutes.
