What is RF Sealing? &How does it work?RF Welding ( Radio Frequency Welding ) machinery usually called RF Heat Sealers are used to bond a variety of plastics. &A &&RF Sealer operates similarly to a standard kitchen microwave oven. &When the RF is applied it &excites or agitates the polarized molecules in the plastic causing heat. &When pressure is applied to the plastic the molecules of the two layers flow together. &The resulting bond is usually stronger than the individual layers of material. &RF Welders and Sealers usually operate at 27.12MHz.
What are RF Sealers primarily &used for?The Packaging Industry uses RF Welding to bond ClamShell and Blister Packages. &The Medical industry use RF Sealers to make Blood Bags, IV Bags, Pressure Cuffs and many other similar products. &In the Automotive Industry RF sealers are used to make the Roll-out Luggage Compartment Covers and to RF weld the vinyl &Toe& and &Heal& pads found at the feet of the Automobile Carpet. &&RF is used in many industrial application to make items such as vinyl construction road signs

What do you need to know before you buy a ?1. &Your materials must be compatible with RF Sealing. &Not all materials respond to RF Heat Sealing. &Check the &add link to materials compatibility chart &2. &Next you'll need to consider sizing the RF Sealers power supply. RF Sealers are sized in Kilowatts. &The most common sized RF Heat Sealer is 10KW and 12KW units. &The basic rule of thumb is that a RF Sealer can weld approximately 3 to 5 square inches per Kilowatt. &Therefore, theoretically a 10KW RF Sealer can weld between 30 and 50 square inches of seal area. &However, there are loss factors at work so get assistance from someone who has experience sizing or .3. &The RF Sealer 's press size is the next area to consider. &The physical size of the press directly relates to the size of the item(s) being RF Sealed. &&If you need to RF Seal a blister or clam shell package you'll need a press size that is large enough to cover that blister or clam shell package at least once. &The presses are described by the size of the press plate that the RF Tooling or RF Die mounts to. &The most common size press is 20& x 30&. &&Some materials require preheating. &Not all RF Sealers have this capability, but in most cases heaters can be retrofitted to an existing press. &So you'll need to know if the material you using requires preheating.4. &Finally, you'll need to consider the material handling system for your RF Heat Sealer. &Some RF Sealing equipment have large or mounted directly the RF Sealer 's frame. &The turntables rotate automatically allowing a multiply operators access to loading and unloading stations called Nesting Plates (lower half of a RF Die set). &Most shuttle units require the operator to manually index the shuttle in and out of the RF press area. &However, some are power by air cylinders. &Here again we recommend getting assistance from a professional experienced in RF Sealers or .
