【DLC简介】
　　对应X360和PC平台的《辐射3（Fallout 3）》第三个追加下载章节&断钢&，将为玩家提供继续在废土世界中奋战的充足理由，同时也将把原作末尾的结局彻底废除并开启新的故事。
　　&断钢&将开启《辐射3》原作中没有出现过的全新场景，并提供全新的武器装备和新的敌人。就如之前所说的，追加章节将继续游戏原作末尾未完的故事，改变之前的结局并发展出新的剧情。但这并不意味着&断钢&就是这款游戏的真正结局，因为Bethesda官方表示，&断钢&的追加将标志着《辐射3》不再有结局的概念。
　　&断钢&的故事是从《辐射3》主线剧情之后两个星期左右开始的，钢铁兄弟会与英克雷军之间的战斗依旧十分激烈。玩家在游戏中，将被赋予帮助钢铁兄弟会建造一种更加强力的武器&泰斯拉加农炮&的使命。
　　与《辐射3》原作一样，追加章节&断钢&同样有主线与支线的概念，现在已知的支线任务中，以帮助钢铁兄弟会护送净化水通过废土并阻止袭击者抢夺的内容为主，但所有支线任务与主线剧情都没有联系。
　　主线剧情部分，玩家所扮演的角色会被派往一个废弃电厂寻找制造泰斯拉加农炮的零件。在这里，玩家会遇到包括超级变种霸王、野生盗尸者和英克雷地狱火骑兵在内的几种新敌人，此外还能够获得几种新武器，包括泰斯拉加农和***等。
　　追加章节将把游戏的等级上限从20提高到30，但与此同时新敌人的能力也会得到大幅强化，初期遇到的敌人等级普遍在18级以上。Bethesda方面还透露，&断钢&中除了有激烈的战斗以外，也会有丰富的解密要素出现。
　　当玩家收集齐所有的泰斯拉零件之后，必须带着它们穿过地铁线，抵达全新场景亚当斯空军基地，在那里玩家将接到进一步的指示。亚当斯空军基地的面积非常大，可以说是一个脱离废土的新世界。
　　Bethesda官方暗示&断钢&的游戏时间比前一个下载包&The Pitt&稍长，主线剧情大概需要4到5个小时完成，另外还有30分钟到1小时左右的支线任务可以挑战。
