比较级 + than + any other +
比较级形式表示最高级含义：
“形容词或副词的比较级＋than + any
(other) + 单数可数名词 / any of the other+复数名词 / the
others / any of the
others.”表示“甲比同一范围的任何一个人/物都……”，含义是“甲最……”。
①The Yangtze River is longer than any other river
& =The Yangtze River is longer
than any of the other rivers in China.
长江比中国的任何一条其他的河都长。
& =The Yangtze River is longer
than the other rivers in China.
长江比中国的其他所有的河都长。
& =The Yangtze River is the
longest river in China. 长江是中国最长的河流。
②Mike gets to school earlier than any other
student in his class.
& = Mike gets to school earlier
than any of the other students in his class.
迈克比他们班上任何一个其他的同学到校都早。

☆但是，如果比较双方不属于同一类别或同一范围，句中则不用other。例如：
①Shanghai is larger than any city in Hebei
②He runs faster than any girl in his class.
③The Yangtze River is longer than any river in
Japan.长江比日本的任何一条河都长。
④Mike gets to school earlier than any student in
Tom’s class.
迈克比汤姆班上任何一个学生到校都早。(迈克和汤姆不是同一个班)
☆在使用这一结构时须要注意：使用这一结构来表达同一范畴中最高级含义时，切记不可出现自身比较错误。如下面的翻译句子：中国是所有亚洲国家中最大的一个。
如果译为：
①China is larger than all the countries in

②China is larger than any country in
Asia.&& (&)
①China is larger than any other country in
②China is larger than any of the other countries
③China is larger than the others in Asia.
