由尼古拉斯?凯奇与《国家宝藏》系列导演乔?德特杜巴再度联手、金牌制作人杰瑞?布鲁克海默制片的迪士尼奇幻新片《巫师学徒》。片中的魔法怪物在设定上与传统奇幻有别，呈现出一种怪异的金属质感，大量中国元素更是吸引眼球，甚至有外形极为东方的“龙”出现。
《巫师学徒》的故事早已有之，迪士尼1940年把它编进了经典音乐动画片《幻想曲》中，由头戴魔法帽的米老鼠主演。不过此番拍成真人电影，故事却是完全原创的，讲述在当代的纽约曼哈顿，一个魔法师招募并训练一个新人以帮助他对抗邪恶黑势力……片中凯奇扮演的男巫师巴萨泽?布雷克留着长发胡须、黑礼帽搭黑风衣，造型显得有些邋遢。以阿帕图校园喜剧出身的新秀演员杰伊?巴鲁切尔出演其貌不扬的魔法学徒戴夫，为本片奠定了喜剧基调。曾在《蜘蛛侠2》中扮演大反派“章鱼博士”的阿尔弗雷德?莫里纳也在片中以全新形象出镜，饰演凯奇的死敌马克西姆?贺拔。本片的女一号是性感的意大利女星莫妮卡?贝鲁奇，她饰演凯奇的旧爱：女巫维罗妮卡。不过，在目前曝光的这支预告片中，贝鲁奇并未现身，倒是澳大利亚籍的80后美女泰莉莎?帕尔墨有着惊艳的亮相。
