对于这个句子李学平教授在《通过翻译学英语》一书中提到，&很小部分&用portion或者percentage更好一点，因为后者含有“份额”的意思，比较合适。

都有表示a small number of 或 not many 的意思。再看看英汉词典，《现代英汉综合大辞典》、《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》等词典的解释，除了“几乎没有”，还有就是“不多”、“很少”。足以表达“很小部分人口”。Very可要可不要。之所以不用a XXX of 这种结构，是为了表达简练，即在表达文意的基础上，尽量做到简洁。附：《柯林斯高阶英语词典》：You use few to indicate that you are talking about a small number of people or things. You can use `so', `too', and `very' in front of few.
